Job Description Summary

Incumbent prepares annual marketing and recruitment plans and carries out various student and corporate recruitment activities in support of student admissions to the University. Counsels prospective students regarding the University’s programs, policies, procedures and services. Selects and participates in recruitment events to promote the University’s degree programs. Supports the recruitment of graduate students regardless of the modality. Reports to the Director of Graduate Admissions.

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Experience working with adult students.
•Knowledge of principles/practices of recruitment for adult students.
•Experience working in both the academic and corporate environments are considered positive.
•Knowledge of higher education admission practices preferred.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the University community.
•Ability to travel is essential.
•Detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

•Master’s degree preferred.

Physical Demands

Due to the recruiting activities, it will be expected that this candidate can lift and move around materials to the event locations. Usually the weight is variable, but a minimum of 10 pounds is expected. Travel is required.

Essential Duties

•Assists prospective graduate (GR) students from all areas of study within various phases of the enrollment, financial aid and registration process.
•Articulates university academic policies and procedures to students.
•Meets with prospective students interested in attending one of the St Louis Area campuses & online
•Plans and implements student recruitment strategies, programs and related activities; manages and conducts recruitment efforts for an assigned geographic area, assists with recruitment mailings and communication plan.
•Develops relationships with corporations, community organizations and professional organizations in order to increase the University’s visibility within the community and recruit new students.
•Evaluates prospective students’ academic profile for admission into the University.
•Creates opportunities for involvement in educational fairs and participates in selected events.
•Sets up strategic schedule for attending community events and calling on corporate and individual prospects.
•Plans and coordinates campus recruitment events.
•Works with Director to develop marketing and recruitment materials to enhance visibility of the extended site experience.
•An integral member of both the undergraduate and graduate admission teams, this position requires participation in creating new strategies to meet the team’s overall enrollment goals.
