Instructional responsibilities for the position include teaching a full-time load of 15 credit hours during both the fall and spring semesters, particularly in Microbiology courses and foundational Biology courses at the major and non-major level. The successful candidate will be expected to be an integral part of the Microbiology curricula and participate in assessment, as well as contribute to departmental and college activities and initiatives that support the college mission.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master's degree in an area of Biology and one year of college-level teaching experience are required. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least two years of college-level teaching experience, preferably at the community college level. Candidates with a strong background and experience in the area of Microbiology, as well as experience in classroom technology and conducting Microbiology labs, are strongly preferred.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $64,841 plus excellent benefits.
