General Summary:

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics Education on the Dahlonega campus at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2020. This is a full-time tenure-track position with benefits.

Located in the fastest-growing region of the state, the University of North Georgia is a multi-campus university with an enrollment of over 20,000 students, making it one of the largest institutions in the University System of Georgia. Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The faculty member will be expected to teach four classes per semester and to engage in service and scholarly activities.

  • Some field supervision of pre-service teachers may also be required.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:

  • A doctorate in mathematics education or closely related field is required at the time of appointment.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential

  • Service and scholarly activities are expected

  • Experience teaching in K-12 classroom settings is desirable.
