A
Postdoctoral Fellow position in vascular pharmacology is available in Dr. Francesca-Fang
Liao laboratory, Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine. The postdoctoral
fellow will investigate potential crucial roles of miRNA21 as mechanistic link
between peripheral and CNS inflammation using multidisciplinary approaches
including cell culture and both acute (systemic LPS) and chronic mouse models.
With direct guidance of Dr. Francesca-Fang Liao focusing on this NIH-funded
project; specially on miRNA21’s role in modulating glial response (e.g., both
microglial and astrocytic response). The postdoctoral fellow will be
responsible for performing experiments proposed for this project, including
mouse learning and qRT-PCR, memory behaviors, quantitative histology and.
RNAseq analysis.
Good
communication skills are required.
Preference
will be given to candidates with one year or less postdoctoral experience with prolific
experience in studying molecular and cellular mechanism of neurodegeneration; especially,
background in Alzheimer’s disease, inflammation and dementia.

Qualification
Candidates
must have a Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience or Neuropharmacology.
Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and is
