Job Summary

Dr. Kristen Kennedy (KNAC lab); Dr. Karen Rodrigue (Healthy Aging Lab)
Center for Vital Longevity | School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences
The University of Texas at Dallas

Applications are invited for one or two postdoctoral fellows to work as part of Dr. Kristen Kennedy and Dr. Karen Rodrigue’s research team at The University of Texas at Dallas in the Brain and Behavioral Science’s Center for Vital Longevity. The postdoc will contribute to collaborative research projects that explore the association between normal aging of the brain and cognition and individual differences therein. Cognitive areas studied span those especially relevant for aging: cognitive control/executive function, fluid and crystallized intelligence, episodic memory. Research utilizes functional MRI, structural imaging (cortical thinning, DTI), vascular imaging (ASL, SWI) and PET imaging of beta-amyloid in a lifespan sample of adults (20-94 years old). The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to participate in analyzing neuroimaging data for presentation and publication within the scope of this sample and data collected.

The Center for Vital Longevity is located blocks away from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and the UTD Imaging Center where our collaborative MRI equipment is housed. Research resources include multiple 3T MRI scanners including three Siemens Prismas (32- and 64-channel head coils), as well as a 7T Philips human scanner. The postdoc will have the opportunity to interact with a large network of collaborators, both at UT Dallas as well as at UTSW. The lab is located in the heart of Dallas, a fun, dynamic, and affordable city.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience

Preferred candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent) by start date in psychology or neuroscience; an emphasis on cognitive neuroscience of aging is desirable.
