The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a non-tenure track position starting Fall 2021/Winter 2022 at the Lecturer level. Candidates will be expected to:

Teach 3-4 sections of Marketing a semester with an emphasis on advertising, social media and digital marketing.

Work with other faculty to maintain, adapt and deliver advertising curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to the advertising program.

Instruct students in a classroom, online and/or hybrid setting.

Perform duties as assigned including those related to the Marketing program and student success, such as leading the advertising specialization, serving as faculty advisor for marketing related student organization, overseeing the marketing advisory committee, assisting with placement of marketing students, serving on committees, etc.

The marketing program consists of some 650 undergraduate majors across general marketing and advertising specializations. The Program also includes an MBA concentration in Marketing with some 160 students, and a concentration in International Business with some 100 students. The Marketing Program also includes a Ph.D. Degree Program. There are 7 tenure track faculty in the Marketing Program.

Unique Duties


Requirements for the position include Master's in Marketing, or a related degree, from an AACSB-accredited school for the Lecturer position.

The ideal candidate would have highly evaluated experience in teaching advertising and marketing related courses.

The ideal candidate would also have significant industry experience in marketing and advertising related fields, and excellent connections with marketing and advertising employers.

The candidate must also possess the qualifications necessary to be designated a qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standards.
