Job Description Summary:
The Postdoctoral Fellow works in a team environment, under the direction of the principal investigator at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. This senior member of the lab is responsible for employing a broad knowledge of procedures and principles to design and conduct research and to disseminate findings.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:

PhD in a Biological Science with a demonstrated ability to produce strong peer-reviewed publications.


Preferred Qualifications:

A strong knowledge of Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, and experience in research grant writing is preferred.


Job Duties Outlined:

  • Plan, conduct, and direct experiments related to the assigned research project/s. One of the projects (primary project) will involve directed differentiation of mammalian stem cells.

  • Generate and analyze data. Write manuscripts and research reports, and present data at regional, national, and international meetings.

  • Train lab personnel associated with the project/s (research assistants, graduate students, etc.)

  • Guide and redirect the project/s as needed based on statistical analyses.

  • Assist in writing research grant applications and progress reports on the assigned project/s in consultation with the Principal Investigator.

  • Interact with Core Facility Directors at the KU Medical Center including the Bioinformatics Core and the Histology Core, to successfully conduct experiments and analyze data through the core facilities.

  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
