Job Description:

The Postdoctoral researcher will assist in data collection, analyses, and organize research projects. They will manage personnel pertaining to the research project. They will also write and publish manuscripts from the project.

General Notes

The purpose of this position is to carry out research activities under joint supervision of the two PIs. The postdoctoral researcher will work on a project that examines the role of closed-loop brain stimulation in human motor and cognitive function in healthy individuals. 


Responsibilities

  • Data collection, involving transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroencephalography, electromyography, behavioral testing, MRI, and surveys
  • Data analysis, requiring use of MATLAB/Python, bash/cshell, R, etc. 
  • Manuscript and grant writing
  • Student supervision; supervision of PhD, MS, and undergraduate students
  • Administrative work / troubleshooting; including management of subject scheduling and payments, troubleshooting technical equipment problems, and submitting IRB applications


Required Qualifications

  • PhD in psychology, movement science, neuroscience, engineering, or related discipline within the last 3 years
  • Experience with human subjects research
  • Experience with Matlab, Python, R, bash, cshell, or similar
  • Previous experience or knowledge of scientific writing (i.e., experience writing manuscripts, grants, etc)
  • Ability to work well independently and with a group


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous publication of research during graduate school as first author (2-3 either published or in review)
  • Experience with either fMRI, EEG, and/or TMS


Salary Range

$47,500.00


Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment

  • Candidate must be able to stand comfortably for up to one hour at a time
