Position Summary

 

Salary: $40,000.00 to $45,000.00 based on ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule C-3 and experience

The Workforce Project Coordinator requires the ability to develop and maintain business and community relationships with an advanced knowledge of skills training and a high level of customer service and communication skills. This position will assist the Center for Workforce Education in executing grant initiatives, including initiatives with K-12, nonprofit, and corporate partners. The position is responsible for planning classes, recruiting, and reporting initiatives within the office.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of special projects and grant programs. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying equipment, material, supplies, and facilities’ needs, reviewing syllabi, and outcomes for grant program classes
  • Coordinate with community partners, including K-12, nonprofits, and business and industry to develop and execute workforce training classes
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation for both internal review and external audits
  • Assist in planning increased enrollment of the Workforce Education Center.
  • Lead in recruiting and outreach efforts on behalf of the Workforce Education department to promote short-term training programs and generate interest
  • Monitor program performance metrics, such as student retention and completion rates, and implement strategies for improvement as needed.
  • Work with the Coordinator of Career Programs and Career Coach to document student, instructor, and class information that is needed for reporting.
  • Attend training days for workforce programs and regularly monitor class progress by making unannounced visits to all classes.
  • Conduct him/herself in a professional manner and exhibit a positive image for the College. Provide excellent customer services at all times which includes, but is not limited to exhibiting a positive, friendly demeanor, building rapport through greeting individuals who enter the College and listening carefully to assess student need, and following up on commitments in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service and oral and written communication skills.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of marketing plans and strategies for grant and skills training programs.
  • Oversee and ensure student support services are provided including intake, registration, advisement, and job placement opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
2. Teaching or training experience preferred

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. All regular full-time and part-time employees (non-temporary and non- student) who work at least 20 hours per week are required to participate in The Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama.
Tier I - Pays 7.50% monthly. State matches 13.57% (effective 10/01/24)
Tier II – Pays 6.20% monthly. State matches 12.60% (effective 10/01/24)
Law Enforcement Officers:
Tier I-Pays 8.50% monthly. State matches 13.57% (effective 10/01/24)

Health Insurance
PEEHIP, established in 1983, provides health insurance benefits for active and retired education employees and is governed by the PEEHIP Board of Control.
