Summary of Position
The University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law (UNH Franklin Pierce), a national leader in legal education with a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and quality engagement for all, is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking applicants for a lateral tenure/tenure track and/or non-scholarship-track appointments to its full-time faculty starting in August 2023.
The law school has a number of curricular needs but is particularly interested in candidates with subject-matter expertise and/or scholarship in Health Law. This position will involve directing the law school’s Health Law and Policy program and teaching related courses that may include Torts, Health Law, and Drug Law, subject to candidate interest and expertise.
All applicants should be ready and enthusiastic to teach both in our residential program in Concord, New Hampshire, and in our online programs including our innovative, specialized online Hybrid JD program in Intellectual Property, Technology, and Information Law.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
Acceptable minimum qualifications include: a JD from an ABA-accredited law school or the foreign equivalent; the interest in and ability to teach in an innovative environment, both in-person and online; and a dedication to mentoring students both on campus and remotely. Faculty wishing to be considered for tenure track or tenured lateral appointments should demonstrate skill in scholarly writing, with a record of publishing in law reviews and law journals. Applicants who do not seek a tenure-track position should demonstrate a track record in the health care industry, including at least five years of full-time experience practicing in health law. All candidates should provide evidence of management experience including in programming, fundraising, and administration; the administrative and leadership skills necessary to excel as a program director; the ability to offer a leading voice on relevant policy and law; and the ability to cultivate local and relational partnerships. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to promoting inclusive excellence and diversity and the ability to effectively work with our rapidly expanding and diverse student population. Candidates must also demonstrate that they are team players; that they possess a collegial and flexible nature; and that they are committed to excellence in performing institutional service and governance responsibilities.
