Job Description

This is a temporary one year fellowship position in the Department of Surgery, Colon & Rectal Division. The Fellowship is a non-accredited program involving the entire spectrum of colon & rectal surgery with an emphasis in minimal invasive and robotic surgery. The program is supported by three full-time and one part time military faculty and led by program director and Chief of Division, Dr. Ovunc Bardakcioglu. The fellow will be responsible as a junior faculty member providing patient care, teaching general surgery residents and medical students and conducting clinical research. The Colon & Rectal Surgery Fellow will assist faculty in operations, research and will be involved in the teaching of Colon & Rectal surgery to residents, general surgery residents and medical students.

It is the mission of the Department of Surgery to continue a path of excellence in clinical practice, education, and research. With over 60 full-time and clinical faculty spanning 10 divisions, our surgeons provide a variety of clinical services to the Las Vegas community which in turn generates a wealth of clinical experience.

Positions funded by Federal contracts may be subject to the E-Verify process for employment eligibility verification.

Required Qualifications

M.D. degree with successful completion of an ACGME accredited program in general surgery prior to employment commencing.

Must be board eligible in General Surgery.

Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully credentialed by Southern Nevada teaching hospitals and/or clinics.
