||The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering invites candidates to submit application materials which will be placed in a pool for consideration as needs for Post Doctoral Researchers or Research Associate arise. Qualified applicants will remain in the search pool for a period of one year. Current broad areas of research interest include:
||65% Conduct research and/or develop systems to conduct research in specific scientific areas consistent with the general research areas of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering department.
10% Participate in the activities of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering department including, but not limited to, group meetings and relevant seminars. Foster collaborations with faculty, and serve as mentor to undergraduate and graduate students.
25% Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publications and project reports, write protocols, and submit future grant proposals.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or closely related field.
- At least 1 year experience in area directly related to specific scientific research.
The Research Associate position additionally requires a minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research or industry research experience in a related field.
NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD in hand. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an acting basis not to exceed 6 months.
- Evidence of advanced knowledge or experience in area directly related to specific scientific research.
- Publications or other evidence of scholarly achievement. Evidence of existing scientific collaborations.
- Teaching experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with developing proposals.
- Experience mentoring graduate students.
